PROJECT 1 // SPACE OUT
For this individual project, we are required to produce two 12 x 12 x 12 cubes, respectively paper and wood, that define volume and space. We are also required to consider the material used to build the cube, for example paper, cardboard, modeling board for the paper cube and balsa wood or plywood for the wooden cube; only one material should be used for each wooden and paper cube. Other than that, an A2 board that illustrates the cubes are required for the submission. The following are my design for the cubes.
REFLECTION
Throughout this project, I am able to recognize the limitations and boundaries of a material factor in a design process, and also able to work effectively with a material following the design requirements. Other than that, I have learned to express a material within its contextual application.
PROJECT 2 // MATERIALITY OF SPACE: AN EXPERIENTIAL EXPLORATION
(A) GROUP
Part A is of this project is a group work of 5. We are required to choose our own site (commersial/residential building) and then study the materials used in the site. After the discovery, analysis and research of the materials, we are to produce four A2 boards that illustrate our study of the site; moodboard, introduction of the building, space analysis and diagrams for each boards.

(B) INDIVIDUAL
Each of us is required to investigate and study a shop house and then produce an A2 board that speaks for the ambience and space of the site chosen, as well as illustrating the environment. We are also required to discuss about the design concept and intention of the establishment. And not to forget the space analysis and diagrams that support the analysis.

REFLECTION
Throughout this project, I am able to identify various types of building materials after stages of research and tutorials. I have also understood the effects of building materials on aesthetics and structural qualities of a building space, as well as its appropriateness used in context. Other than that, I have a more concrete understandting of application and installation of materials. Nonetheless, to procude a complete documentation and analysis of materials in respect to physical and chemical properties.
